Hi it's me, sarahkate,
and this is my first post here at DeQuad. ^^
I love Japanese Cuisine and this is one of
my favorite restaurants!!!
You may find it pricey but i think it's really worth it.
:)
fresh oysters

Grilled crab in roe and mayonnaise cheese sauce *oishii!!!*
My mom's katsu set

I coaxed by Dad to share the much-loved Rokkaku Bento with me.
*Kiyoko: Look at the juicy slices of Salmon belly!
And the roe eggs!
Priced at rm60, it's really worth it. And a great dining experience.
For better close-up pictures of the Rokkaku Bento, click here.

Ahh, it was quite a feast for four.
Kiyoko: This is oishii!

If you like Japanese Cuisine,
I recommend you drop by the place for their

The City of Ember

hie all!! this is my first post since i voluntarily agreed to help out in this blog!
I love to watch movie! so i will update u with every movie i watch to give u an idea of what is the movie about and whether it is worth watching it! lets start!!!

The City Of Ember

Director : Gil Kenan

Writer : Caroline Thompson

Cast : Bill Murray, Tim Robbins, Saoirse Ronan, Harry Treadaway, Martin Landau, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Toby Jones, Mary Kay Place

Studio : 20th Century Fox

GENRE(S): Adventure Family/Kids Fantasy

Synopsis : When mankind is about to come to an end, a group of scientists decide to create and populate a city deep underground. The city of Ember is to last for 200 years after which its inhabitants are to retrieve from a strong box instructions to return to the surface. It's left to two young adults to unearth the secret of Ember and to lead the way out

Materials taken from http://www.metacritic.com

Review : This movie is better than inkheart!!! seriously!! A fun and moving family film with a subtly dark feel rarely seen in kids' movies since the '80s, City of Ember succeeds despite its shortcomings, not only because of its fun and inspiring story, but because most of its flaws are things kids won't notice anyway.

Rating : 7/10

As the synosis stated. Its a movie on how love revolved around men.I think the storyline machiam similar to one of the media.corp series leh except that this show more on sex life(tho there's is no sex scene or whatsoever...its 18PL pls~ not 18SX,lol)Anyway I find the storyline abit dull tho quality is there la(I think?).Not as what I expected norh :[ Overall I find its a ok ok show la,dull and plain tho there's some scene worth laughing.Anyway we should support our local actors and actress right? The venue of the cast is also in Malaysia. Director: David Fincher
Cast: Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Taraji P. Henson, Julia Ormand, Jason Flemyng, Elias Koteas and Tilda Swinton.

Scott Fitzgerald about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards: A man, like any of us, who is unable to stop time. We follow his story set in New Orleans from the end of World War I, into the 21st century, following his journey that is as unusual as any man's life can be. Director by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett with Taraji P. Henson, Tilda Swinton, Jason Flemyng, Elias Koteas and Julia Ormond, "Benjamin Button," is a grand tale of a not so ordinary man and the people and places he discovers along the way, the loves he finds, the keys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time.
(Source: Warner Brothers)
*Materials taken from http://www.gsc.com.my/

This movie potraited the life of Benjamin Button in an unusual way where his life goes backward. He was dumped right after his birth in front of a old-folk house because of his monstrosity look. The old folk house then became a place where he can call home. However,he tend to see people dies before him which make the movie rather sad.
I find the movie is a worthwhile movie to watch because you can see the cute BradPitt at the end =p though the movie is abit long. The very much sad place is at the end of the story where he had grown into a lost child, cant remember his past nor remember anybody.A good movie to watch.

The Pink Panther 2

Release Date: 5 February 2009
Language: English
Classification: U
Running Time: 1 hour 32 minutes
Director: Harald Zwart
Cast: Andy Garcia, Emily Mortimer, Jean Reno, Steve Martin.
Genre: Comedy

Synopsis: When legendary treasures from around the world are stolen - including the priceless Pink Panther Diamond! - Chief Inspector Dreyfus (John Cleese) is forced to assign the bumbling French police detective, Inspector Jacques Clouseau (Steve Martin) to a team of international detectives and experts charged with catching the thief and retrieving the stolen artifacts. (Source: Cinema Online)
*Materials taken from http://www.gsc.com.my
This movie is not so much of a favourite.I seriously 'entah kenapa' do not like this show.People were laughing all the way in the cinema but I don't find it laughable cause of all the action in it was so dumb.Yes,dumb..not funny. And I wasted RM10 for this show =.= .The show basically about a clumsy inspector which were sent to lead a team of international detectives and experts in trying to solve the mystery behind stolen artifacts. And some hilarious and clumsiness scenes which some find it funny which I don't.Ok..I seriously do not know what to write lol...Conclusion is the show is not worth watching in the cinema =x

Underworld 3 - Rise of the Lycans

Release Date: 22 January 2009
Language: English
Classification: 18SG
Running Time: 1 hour 26 minutes
Director: Patrick Tatopoulos
Cast: Michael Sheen, Bill Nighy, Rhona Mitra, Shane Brolly.

Synopsis: The Underworld series gets the prequel treatment with this third outing that fleshes out the story of the ancient war between the vampiric Death Dealers and their wolfman counterparts, the Lycans. F/X technician Patrick Tatopoulos (Godzilla, Independence Day) steps out of the effects lab and into the director's chair with this entry, which sees stars Bill Nighy returning as Viktor, the King of his vampire clan and father to Sonja (Rhona Mitra), a free-minded heir who tests her parent by heading outside of their castle's borders and doing battle with the ravenous werewolves of the surrounding area. Sonja also harbors a secret love affair with Lucien (Michael Sheen), the first of the Lycans, a race of lycanthropes who were bred by the vampires to be slaves and protectors to the bloodsucking clan. As the news of their love spreads to Viktor, ranks of the vampire elite help Lucien escape, leading to a revolution of the Lycans against their masters and setting up the mythology of the later latexed adventures featured in Len Wiseman's two previous films. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, All Movie Guide
In this trilogy,it was all back to how the war between the two race begin. You'll find it best to watch the 3rd movie then proceed to the 1st and 2nd as The Rise of the Lycans is all about the history behind the war and how the lycan regained their freedom and fight for their right. Its ok if you haven't watch the 1st or the 2nd,you'll still be able to understand the story. As I'm a fanatic of fiction story eg:zombie, vampiie etc I like this movie.

Taking over.

The blog have been abandoned and collecting dusts for almost 1 and a half years.
Been thinking alot whether to close it or continue posting and taking over this blog totally from my 3other fellow friends.
After much consideration....I've made up my mind and
I'M TAKING OVER!
I think it might be tough for me as my exam is near but I think I'll be able to manage as food and movie is my all-time-favourite.
====================================
Ok,let me wrap up everything before I modified and removed most of the widget and link on this blog.

This blog was once started by 4 of us namely Christina , Jamie , Angeline and Martin .We had fun eating together, posting our review and rating it at the same time. But as time goes I guessed everybody had their own stuff to mind therefore the blog was abandoned. Some of the time when I log in,I see the poor 'thing' collecting more and more dust by day. Therefore I've decided to take over the blog completely by starting on my journey of food and quest in looking for more nice food to write on.
I guess the journey shall not just end here?
So starting from this post onward, most of the post will be from me(Christina aka bLonG) and another author on permission Zizi

Therefore,this blog shall be on 'heavy-construction' soon...Stay Tune~^^

30 Days of Night

Went to pyramid for movie~ 30 days of night with my sis, Wee leng and Terence-..
Not bad, i like the storyline, and i like Josh Hartnett...^^
and the "vampire" looks geli...
LOL, i think it shouldn't be called "vampire", cos the creature moves fast, and the way they eat flesh looks like beast ~ it doesn't make you feel that they are vampire ~ Hmm... I'm like talking nonsense... anyway, for me, i think it is a 3 star movie...

I hate Pyramid car park very much !!! very complicated... >.<''' summore i noticed that there is no any CCTV at the new area of the carpark lo... I dunno whether is my eyes problems or it is really no CCTV there, cos last time when I went there with Fat.B ... He oso said that there is no CCTV lo... imagine how dangerous is it when you wanna get your car in the late night and summore the car park is so damn complicated with the directions... OK, maybe i'm just not get used to the new car park... =.=

A Walk To Remember

" Love is like the wind. You can't see it but you feel it "

Each Spring in the little port town of Beaufort, North Carolina, when the wind smells of pine and salt and the sea, Landon Carter remembers his senior year at Beaufort High and Jamie Sullivan, the girl who changed his life.

Jamie was the last person Landon was likely to fall for. Serious and conservative, she was as far from cool as she could possibly be, and didn’t care. The daughter of the town’s Baptist minister, Jamie was not afraid of letting people know that her faith was the most important part of her life, even if it cost her some friends. Landon hung with the in-crowd -- an aimless, moody, reckless guy who breezed through school on looks and bravado. He had no plans, no future and no faith in himself.

One night a prank that he and his buddies set up goes terribly wrong and lands a kid in the hospital. As punishment, Landon must tutor a young student at a poor school and participate in the Drama Club’s Spring play two activities the principal hopes will teach him some humility. They also happen to throw him into close contact with Jamie. Clearly in over his head, Landon is forced to ask her for help.

Soon, against his own expectations, Landon finds himself falling in love with this outwardly plain girl who possesses a passion for life he never imagined possible. But it isn’t easy. For reasons of her own, Jamie does everything she can to run away from romance until it becomes impossible to deny.

Being together will test everything that they believe in. Most of all, it will test the power of love and faith to transform a life into something worth living.

Paddington House of Pancakes

Had lunch at Paddington House of Pancakes at The Curve, The Street, 1st Floor (next to Old town Kopitiam if I'm not mistaken) ..... All right, what does this small and cosy restaurant serve? Pancakes of course!!! Varieties of pancakes ..... Had trouble deciding what to eat ... anyway this restaurant is already so packed at 12.30pm so luckily my family and I went there at 12pm. So as you can see, there are still quite a number of empty tables. So basically, there are two types of dishes for you to choose : Savoury & Sweet Pancakes. Savoury is where they cooked with meat and is suitable as a main course whereas Sweet pancakes as desserts but its up to you anyway.
Nice and cosy ambience - very comfortable but the restaurant is a little small

Ice Lemon Tea - is what we ordered .... @ RM5.50
Treasure Box: Mini-dollar pancakes served with Assorted Nuts, Raisins, Fruits (Strawberry, Peach, Plum, Banana & etc) Ice-cream & Maple Syrup @ RM16.50
Amsterdam: Savoury pancake served with Beef Salami, Mozarella Cheese & Button Mushroom @ RM17.50
Grilled Lamb served with Savoury Pancakes, Mint & Brown Sauce & Mash Potato @ RM22.50
Full Monty: Savoury Pancakes Served with Sunny side up (Egg), Baked Beans, Mash Potato, Sausage & Ham @ RM 18.50
Pancake Burger: Savoury Pancake Served with Beef, Hash Brown & Egg @ RM 22.50

Overall, I think that this restaurant serves delicious food and there are still a lot more that I haven't tried before. The portion is rather big so for those who can't really eat I suggest you either share it or order something smaller. Other than that, the service is really good too but we had to wait for about 15-20 mins before our food is served. Dishes like the Grilled Lamb is not very recommended as it is rather normal so I suggest that you should order something different. Will visit this restaurant again.

Rating: 4.5 stars
